#8 Teen Titans by Felicia D Henderson (#75-76, #79-87)

Time for my first multiple issue comic review, today we’ll be looking at the entire of Felicia D Henderson’s run on the Teen Titans pre new 52. Unfortunately, as I only own a trade of this, I can't add scans, I'm gonna edit in some covers to break up the text a bit

First, a little background. A year after Infinite Crisis a new team of Titans formed, Robin was the leader, and he and Wonder girl were the only original members of the team at that point, down to Kid Flash having lost his super-speed and Superboy being killed in Infinite Crisis. Other heroes that came in were Supergirl, Kid Devil (who would later become Red Devil), Ravager (Deathstroke’s daughter), the Blue Beetle and Miss Martian, also Marvin and Wendy were like the tower watchmen. The stories were a lot darker than the ones prior to Infinite Crisis, but Geoff Johns kept enough of the magic alive. Then he left the title. Sean McKeever took over the title, and the roster began to change a little. Supergirl left almost instantly and a new Aqua-girl and Static were added to the team. Robin left after the events of Final Crisis/Batman RIP, leaving Wondergirl as leader and Marvin was killed and Wendy badly injured by a mutant dog. Ravager left the team, and Bombshell (who’s basically a girl with the powers of Captain Atom) joined basically as her replacement. Also Red Devil was depowered; but remained on the team (because that worked out so well for Marvin and Wendy)

After this Bryan Q Miller came to writer’s desk and wrote a 4-issue story Child’s Play with the tagline ‘another Titan dies’ (you’d never guess which one) yup Eddie, the former Red Devil dies saving the city from a nuclear explosion and Kid Eternity is kidnapped by the Calculator and never seen or heard from (or even brought up) in the entire of the next run (it’s not brought up again until JT Krul’s Teen Titans run, where it’s revealed that Kid Eternity is dead... So worth that wait…) Aside from JT Krul’s Blackest Night Tie-in (which features the Wilson family, and no other Titans) the next run is by Felicia D Henderson, and oh boy, it's bad, very very bad. So let’s begin with this.

We start with a two-part story called Wyld thing, get it, wild thing, ha ha. Which starts with Raven flying into a cave, for some reason, where she’s confronted by… I have no idea what those are, she is knocked around a bit before disappearing, and we’re introduced to our main villain, the thing of many heads. At Titans tower, the Titans are arguing (they’ve been doing that a lot lately) when suddenly an alarm goes off and Beast Boy steps in. Raven wakes up on the shore and another monster takes her to Titans Tower.

Back in the Tower, Beast Boy immediately assumes leadership of the team and Cassie is happy for his help (so it begins…) Aqua-girl discovers Raven outside and brings her into the tower, as Beast Boy discusses his ‘leadership philosophy’ much to the disdain of the others. Raven is brought before him and he freaks out, telling them to get her to the lab.

After a few scenes that don’t accomplish anything important, Raven starts to spasm, they realise that it’s an evil Raven must flush out, with Static’s jolt of electricity doing... something I guess. she’s sedated and allowed to rest. Miss Martian is then confronted by the Wyld, which somehow manifested itself in a cat’s hairball? Miss Martian tries to fight it off but he’s too powerful for her and she’s knocked out. The Wyld then calls his forces to the tower. The Titans gather outside and discover that the Wyld somehow blocked Blue Beetle’s tech and yet they assume that radio contact will be fine. Beast Boy goes back into the tower (because that’s the mark of a great leader) Beast Boy discovers the Wyld in Raven’s quarters and attacks it, whilst the rest of the team realise they’re badly outnumbered.

Beast Boy somehow transforms into the Wyld’s form and fights it beast on beast (pretty sure his powers don’t work like that) Cassie tries to call for Beast Boy’s help but he doesn’t respond and they begin to get overwhelmed by the creatures. Beast Boy too is outnumbered, as the Wyld splits into multiple forms. Static helps Cassie fend off the creatures and the monster that helped Raven earlier stops another from killing Miss Martian. Miss Martian begins to recover and begins to communicate with Raven, waking her up. Raven awakens and defeats the Wyld, without any real effort at all, the Wyld retreats whilst saying he’ll be back (yay, can’t wait…). In the aftermath, Miss Martian talks about the Wyld in her diary. “It’s been around for centuries – it lives only to destroy” (remember this, I’ll make a point about it later.) Also the others confront Beast Boy about not wanting him to lead, he says Cyborg thought Cassie needed help.

Wyld thing is probably the best of the 3 stories Henderson wrote but don’t get me wrong, it’s not very good. A lot of questions are left unanswered and none of them are answered during her run either. But the worst is yet to come, let’s dig into her next tale, this one has multiple titles but I’m going to call it the tales of Dakota because that’s where it all takes place. No shock to anyone then that this a Static focused story, so let’s dig into the next lot, and see how bad we can go.

We start with a scene of Cyborg talking to Cassie, who says he worries about her self-confidence. In Titans Tower, Virgil (Static) says he’s gotta go home because a virus hit Dakota. He starts by visiting his sister, Sharon, who has come down with it.

A little background here, Virgil was one of the heroes who was taken because he had the meta-gene during Final Crisis, part of the Dark-Side club (get it, Darkseid?). They were forced to fight each other, until the Titans (specifically Ravager and Miss Martian) rescued them. Static decided he couldn’t bring himself to talk to his family after what happened as they probably think he’s dead.

So, you wouldn’t be surprised to hear that Sharon isn’t all that pleased about how the situation was handled. She goes to bed, tired of all his lies. (Gee, keeping a secret identity is hard isn’t it? Although visiting your family when a virus has hit an entire city is probably not the best way to go about it) back at the Tower everyone decides they should go.

Virgil’s next stop on his tour of loved ones, which for some reason TAKES PRIORITY OVER THE VIRUS HITTING THE CITY!! Virgil’s parents want to know what happened and Virgil can’t give them a straight answer. Cassie returns to Titans Tower and CALLS THEM BACK TO THE BRIEFING ROOM. You know, fixing a crisis maybe takes priority over asserting your authority Cassie, just a little. Static meanwhile, hits up some bad guys and delivers medicines to the hospitals and I’m not entirely sure what he’s doing on the next page. He visits Sharon again, and she berates him again (great, way to waste a page, comic) in the totally necessary meeting that absolutely couldn’t have happened in the T-Jet on the way to Dakota Cassie asserts her authority. Bombshell says “I object to discussing this any further” and I couldn’t agree with her more.

In a health clinic, Static assists taking down some robbers and bumps into Frieda, one of the few friends that knows his secret identity. She punches him in the stomach, because she thought he was dead. Static says he’ll explain everything when he’s saved the city. Static realises that only Hollander Clinics has access to the vaccine and hacks into their systems to find out why, he finds the money is coming from a biotech lab; that could well be creating the virus as well as the vaccine. The Titans finally arrive and find that Dakota is a war-zone, Static breaks into Hollander Enterprises and is stopped by a familiar face, Holocaust.

Static wakes up in Holocaust’s home with his woman tending to him. Holocaust explains he attacked a legitimate business and endangered employees. The remaining Titans are saving the police from another attack. Holocaust explains to Static that while he was away he did a fair amount of good in the city.

The police chief explains (with Beast Boy finishing his sentences for some reason) that when Static took out the lab security, he left the place open to attack from those wanting the vaccine. Holocaust says he’s opened soup kitchens, homeless shelters and spent a lot of money on the vaccine. (He’s all heart isn’t he?) Miss Martian, who had a migraine in the last issue, is having trouble locating Static, which is both surprising since they have 2 telepaths, a guy with tech scanners and a guy that can shift into several tracking animals on the team and also not surprising since they were told to SIT ON A ROOF!

Suddenly, Cassie smells smoke at a hospital and Bombshell somehow knows there’s a riot since the E.R. overflowed. Holocaust offers Static an opportunity to join him, keep him honest and on the right path. “That’s totally narcissistic, totally delusional and totally wrong” is absolutely not the right answer to that question. The Titans save some people at the hospital, with Aqua girl’s trident reappearing having not appeared in any scenes until now in this story (get used to this, it happens a lot.) Static says he heard a story where Holocaust murdered a bunch of gang leaders, Holocaust says that what really happened is that he defended the people (who may or may not still be gang leaders) from an attack.

Despite being fine earlier, Miss Martian’s headache has returned but not before she mentions tracking down Frieda. Holocaust continues to appeal to Static by showing how he rescued a children’s hospital that was about to go under. The Titans have trouble getting a hotel because they want assurances that they’ll be protected from destruction. This would be an interesting point but since it’s never brought up again, I’ll just call it another wasted page.

After that very important job, they find Frieda and ask her whether she’s seen Static, she says she hasn’t since the earlier scene. Beast Boy confidentially calls Cyborg and says they might been in over their heads, they’ve been looking for Static for 2 DAYS! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Two telepaths, alien tech and a guy than can turn into tracking animals and they STILL HAVEN’T FOUND HIM IN 2 DAYS. And good lord it means Holocaust and Static have been talking for that long, some very lengthy negotiations.

Meanwhile, again, it would be nice to have a scene that lasts more than a page in this issue, Static finds a note in his pocket, from the girl who helped him earlier, Nina. Static asks about her, and Holocaust has had enough and reveals (shockingly) that’s he’s still a complete monster. Wonder Girl says they’ll search in shifts until Static is found, ignoring the fact that more people tracking him increases the likelihood of him being found. Wonder girl, Bombshell and Aqua-girl take the first shift, as Holocaust easily takes Static down and suddenly, as luck would have it, Static is finally found but it doesn’t do them much good as Holocaust suddenly is the power equivalent of Satan and knocks them all out.

Beast Boy in a form of a bird is watching Raven sleep when Blue Beetle comes and wakes them up. Jaime gears up and for some reason it’s painful, when it hasn’t been any other time to my knowledge, aside from when he first did it in Infinite Crisis. Anyway we cut to somewhere where a fat guy says that Wonder Girl, Static, Aqua-girl and Bombshell are in restraints that would hurt them if they try and use their powers. Raven, Miss Martian, Blue Beetle and Beast Boy try and find them, whilst being as melodramatic as possible. Beast Boy picks up the scent of a van they got away in (because all van exhausts have different scents apparently) they pass several gas stations and no luck, Raven tries to contact them.

After Cassie has another bad idea to escape, we see Beast Boy’s lost the scent amongst others. He’s rather annoyed about it and has tells Raven how he failed as a leader. I remember a scene in a TV show called Paradise CafĂ© with the line “the best leaders know when to let others lead” or words to that effect. Beast Boy came in and immediately tried to assume leadership for no adequately explained reason! He failed as a leader, the moment he tried to become one, as the team did not want him as the leader and they already had a leader in Cassie, although be aware, her character assassination will be coming.

Cyborg looks at images of Beast Boy from over time, where two shadowy figures come, and Cyborg mentions putting them out of retirement. Blue Beetle finally comes up with something as “the scarab found an A.T.M. with video of a speeding Red Van giving off trace quantum energy like Bombshell’s”

1.   A.T.M. Automated Teller Machine, is a cash machine, why would it have footage of anything?
2.   Why didn’t they think of this earlier!!!?

Anyway, they track the licence plate to Holocaust’s compound where two henchmen are just waiting to be interrogated.  (Well, they’re not there for any other reason) they’re quickly taken down and Miss Martian gets the location out of their minds. They storm Holocaust’s compound ‘the hole.’ Holocaust easily takes down Beast Boy and Blue Beetle, Miss Martian accidentally knocks Raven out with a psychic attack, before also being easily defeated by Holocaust. Just as all hope is lost Cyborg arrives with Superboy and Kid Flash.

A little background here. In the Final Crisis Tie in Legion of 3 worlds, Kid Flash and Superboy are revived, that’s it

The filler in particularly these previous 2 issues is astounding. The whole Holocaust is a nice guy act could’ve been scrapped, as well as the endless Titan search. But we’ve still got part 4 of this story and the next one. In the next one, it’s pretty much one big action scene, so I’ll try and be brief. Kid Flash, Superboy and Cyborg lay some hits on Holocaust and eventually trick him into the releasing the others. Holocaust blows up the hole but Superboy and Kid Flash survive and try to kick his ass. The other Titans are saved by erm… Raven’s acid soul-self? And eventually Kid Flash somehow manages to drill a hole to THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH and leave him in it, admitting that he’ll eventually climb out and probably kill hundreds before they can stop him again. Go team!?

Virgil says his goodbyes and on the T-jet with Mr Fat man, they wonder how Holocaust created the virus. The fat man said it was his silent partner and a dimensional rift opens, the Fat man grabs Raven and flies her through it.  With Beast Boy trying to save her by turning into A F*CKING DRAGON! Beast Boy can’t do that! He can turn into animals, not mythological creatures. Anyway, that’s the entire issue.

Good god was this too long, too padded out and boring. Holocaust is massively overpowered. Static defeated him on his own in the past and now he can take out Blue Beetle with no problems at all. Oh yeah and it starts the weird decision of Cassie being a jerk to Superboy for NO REASON. I didn’t cover it in this one but it’ll be coming in what’s thankfully the last story. The quest for Raven. Let’s just get this over with.

We start with the same scene, but suddenly Blue Beetle is holding Aqua-girl when it was Cassie in the last issue. Static holding Bombshell, who was flying in the last issue and Beast Boy in eagle form holding Cyborg, who Bombshell was holding before. Also Cassie is holding Miss Martian, who can also fly. I mean the only one they got right was Superboy holding Kid Flash.

Apparently Miss Martian’s drifting in and out of consciousness, which we don’t see, at least not here. Kid Flash manages to slow down the T-jet so they can use it again to get back to San-Francisco. Beast Boy protests until Static points out that the rift would’ve taken her to another dimension.  So they repair the jet and head back to Titans Tower. Cyborg says he has to leave, he’s been in these crummy stories long enough. Although he gives some excuse of covering both East and West sides, but he doesn’t appear again until the end, so my theory still stands. We’re introduced to Vincent and Rochelle Barnes because having regular humans in the tower has worked so well in the past. Cassie asks them to see if they can help Miss Martian as well as track down Raven.

Miss Martian seems stable aside from odd neural degeneration (well, that’s OK then). They’ve isolated the Wyld’s extra-dimensional energy signature (yes the fat man was indeed the Wyld; not that that was ever shown, at all) but tracking it through alternate dimensions will be tricky. Cassie and Superboy talk and Cassie says she’s under a lot of pressure (boo friggin hoo) they kiss but then Rochelle walks in and things get awkward. Miss Martian wakes up and says that Vincent, who she’d never met, is looking for the Wyld in the wrong way. Virgil walks in on Jamie who says he has to see his mother before leaving (and he’s obviously had enough in this sh*tty series because we don’t hear from him again.) Superboy asks for Kid Flash’s advice on Cassie but she walks in at the wrong moment and says that his words may compromise her position as leader (HE’S ENTITLED TO SAY WHATEVER HE LIKES, IT’S HIS BUSINESS TOO) Cassie gets angry (so glad we have this new dynamic between the two, it’s almost as if Henderson hadn’t red Geoff John’s Action Comics issue where the two get on just fine, who am I kidding, like hell did she read it) Superboy takes off (because screw finding Raven, I need personal time)

In the lab, Beast Boy, and it took me a few reads to realise it was Beast boy, wants to help whilst Bombshell says something’s telling her not to trust Miss M. Miss M wakes up and says she had the Wyld’s dream (do dreams work like that if you’re a telepath?). Bombshell tells Cassie what happened and also mentions that Superboy took off, Cassie seems depressed. Vincent finally finds the right universe. But there’s still searching to be done. Superboy returns and has a scene with Aqua-girl, which is actually quite charming. Meanwhile Static wakes up with a premonition or something as he goes to the lab and knows they need to boost power to find Raven, he offers to provide that power, and they find Raven.

In the conference room, they explain how they need to use ley lines to get there but they need to do so where the ley lines of this universe match up with its own, in the Ocean. Apparently, it’s the key to a door on a deserted island, or some such nonsense. So Aqua-girl and Bombshell volunteer to be the ones going into the water, whilst the others enter the dimension and find Raven. She says he can’t reach Jaime because he’s in the events of Justice League: Generation Lost (because no-one’s ever appeared in multiple titles before, right?) Miss Martian says she can’t go either because she may not be trustworthy. Cassie says a line that should be hers and two that should’ve been Miss Martian's and then they reveal the origin on the Wyld. In another dimension Raven passes through looking for her father and her energies merge animals into the Wyld. That’s it. Remember this “It’s been around for centuries – it lives only to destroy” well apparently it hasn’t been around for centuries anymore

And it still doesn’t explain how it came to command the army of things we saw in Wyld thing. Also Raven just passed through the dimension and that caused his formation. That’s a pathetic origin story, Henderson! But it does now work out why the Wyld wants Raven, her energies are capable of destroying it. So it’ll be of no surprise to anyone that she’s still very much alive. Well done Wyld, well done. So after two panels where Miss Martian and Cassie say each other’s lines (and actually I think they might be drawn the wrong way round in one of them) we get the rally cry and end issue.

Well, that issue certainly accomplished nothing. It was supposed to be a character issue, but wrong time, wrong place.

In part 2, in ‘somewhere near west Africa’ (don’t you just love how precise that is) Aqua-girl and Bombshell dive into the water. In ‘Somewhere near East Asia’ (I reiterate my previous statement) the others are being flown to the Island. Surely a key would open a door close by, not hundreds of miles away (I assume it’s hundreds but we have no real way of telling). After 2 pages of Aqua-girl not having a trident, it suddenly appears in her hands, as they’re attacked by mutant fish. Original…

Aqua-girl loses the nav device, but thanks to the wonders of plot convenience Bombshell can track it anyway, so, it was pointless. The portal is opened and the 5 Titans: Superboy, Beast Boy, Kid Flash, Static and Wonder Girl step through and are immediately caught in quick-sand. Kid Flash manages to vibrate them free.

Beast Boy can’t pick up the scent but suddenly they’re attacked by tumble-weeds. I am being serious, oh and Static’s lightning is now yellow and Superboy has freeze vision for some reason (did I mention, this is post Blackest Night, so he already has freeze-breath) Cassie tells Superboy to ‘quit treating me like I’m friend your girlfriend’ and I sigh as the character assassination of Cassie continues. The tumbleweeds come back, and they defeat them.

Back in the Ocean, the keyhole starts moving, oh and Aqua-girl’s trident has disappeared again. Superboy tries to find Raven with his super-hearing and thanks to Static and Kid Flash combining their powers (which are basically the same as before, aside from Static’s lightning being yellow) to send out radio waves (in case you’re wondering, no, they shouldn’t be able to do that) that Superboy can use to track down Raven. Bombshell and Aqua-girl pin down the keyhole before they’re attacked by ANOTHER mutant fish monster. Meanwhile the method used may have backfired as everyone is electrocuted (gee I wonder how they’ll get out of this, given that Static’s on the team). In Titans Tower, Miss Martian bursts in saying if she can’t help, they’ll never return.

The pacing is so damn slow; another issue and very little has happened. And this is a 5-issue story, the longest of Henderson’s stories. But onwards. Miss Martian patronises the Doctors eventually getting them to try and contact Aqua-girl and Bombshell, who have been swallowed by the fish monster. In the Wyld’s dimension. Static soaks up the electricity (told ya) Superboy lands, about the only one barely effected by it (despite the fact he clearly was) and checks on the team. So after that “electro-scan” of the planet, Superboy knows where Raven is. We cut to Titans Tower, where the Doctors say they can’t get through to Aqua-girl and Bombshell, who are still inside the fish who’s apparently immune to Bombshells quantum energy blasts (because of course it is).

Apparently the Wyld needs an eclipse to kill Raven for some reason, back in ‘the world of the Wyld’ the Titans are attacked by a tree monster, for a filler fight scene. They fly into a rock quarry volcano thing and get caught in a lava burst. Beast Boy’s falling (gee, wonder how he’ll get out of that) Static’s falling, asking Kid Flash for help but Kid Flash can’t move his legs under a pile of rocks (despite the fact, he could probably use his arms, also how he ended up there from the lava burst I don’t know) meanwhile at Titans Tower, the Doctors give Miss Martian a helmet to enhance her telepathic ability, they use it and suddenly the Wyld can speak through her.

Wow, I summed up that issue in two paragraphs, which means even less happened in that issue. In part 4 Miss Martian, with the Wyld using her body kills Vincent (remember what I said about normal humans in the tower, never works out, ever) before being blasted back by Rochelle, who isn’t human (in case you’re wondering, this is never brought up again or explained, in any title) When Miss Martian comes to, she’s herself again and asks to get back in the helmet. Rochelle agrees (why?) but says she has one hour before her ‘brain will fry.’ In the Atlantic Ocean, Miss Martian tells the mutant fish thing to throw up Aqua-girl and Bombshell, the latter’s armour is breached, and the former has radiation poisoning as a result. They open the keyhole again, and Miss Martian projects through the portal.

After mentally fighting off the Wyld (making his first full appearance in this story as it happens) Miss Martian wakes up Cassie, who in turn saves Superboy and they kiss before saving the others (because rekindling friendship is more important suddenly) apparently none of them had died in the lava despite many to one odds but only Beast Boy is conscious. Miss Martian wakes up Static and Kid Flash before the eclipse begins. To destroy Raven the Wyld needs the full eclipse, for some reason, but puts up a fight against Miss Martian on the astral plane.

The other titans race to the bottom of the caves but are caught in spider’s webbing which has energy dampening properties (because of course it does,) so they can’t escape. Miss Martian tries to warn Raven of what’s coming, and the issue ends with the Wyld, for some reason in a human form coming up to him saying ‘Hi Mom’ sighs, so again, not much happened here. So let’s see how much worse it gets in part 5.

Miss Martian quickly rescues the team, by telling the spider who spun the web to go away but that’s it from her, as she has to be pulled out. We then get a rehash of the Wyld’s origin and revealed he wants to rule their dimension (“It’s been around for centuries – it lives only to destroy” – just saying.) The other Titans finally arrive, Superboy is defeated by the Wyld’s Kryptonite vision (because the plot says he has that now) and Wonder girl is knocked out by electricity redirected from Static. Raven can’t heal Superboy but suddenly Static can and the logic there is he can drain lightning from a storm, so he can drain Kryptonite – that’s the biggest jump in logic I’ve ever seen. So Beast Boy and Kid Flash are dispatched by the Wyld, while Static and the Wyld duke it out, with both unaffected by the others’ blows

Raven is trying to restore benevolence in the heart of the Wyld but Static says they’re out of time and need to defeat him now, despite Raven’s protest Static gives everything and defeats it. Static somehow creates a portal for everyone to go home. Where Cyborg is waiting. (He’s back, go team…) Apparently though Bombshell and Aqua-girl are lost at sea (nice considering Bombshell’s suit is leaking and Aqua-girl has radiation poisoning, also they may say that, I think they’ve just had enough of this cr*ppy story) Cassie gives Green Lantern and Superman 24 hours before they join the search (because what could possibly happen in 24 hours?) Static seems to be free of the meta-gene that gave him his powers, for some reason. Raven says she’s gotta go and find Bombshell and Aqua-girl in the morning (because what can happen over 1 night?) Static packs his bags, but Cyborg tells him he’s going to Cadmus saying “it’s up to me to decide what’s best for you” NO IT F*CKING WELL ISN’T!

Superboy and Cassie are in bed together, lovely. Static lays on his bed thinking ‘deuces, static shock’ forgetting that Static Shock is the name of the TV show, his name is Static! Kid Flash is in a medical centre with a comatose Miss Martian. In the morning everyone enters the dining room for breakfast, including Raven, who decided against going after Bombshell and Aqua-girl after all. Rochelle believes they can help Miss Martian back at CADMUS, Static agrees to go with them, so long as he can travel with Miss Martian. And they do, and thus ends Henderson’s run. Thank heaven

THIS RUN GIVES ME RAGE ISSUES!

The pacing is awful, all 3 of these stories could’ve been half the length with the amount of filler in each issue. The character assassination of Cassie has repercussions into JT Krul’s run on the book, characters are dropped right and left for no good reason and some are brought in for no good reason. The Wyld’s power set changes in his two appearances, as does his motivations and origins. He goes from able to create copies of himself to KRYPTONITE VISION (where the hell did he get that power?) Beast Boy’s character is somewhat badly written here too, I don’t think he’d try to undermine Cassie as much as he did.

Holocaust isn’t satisfactorily defeated, he’s not trapped just delayed and he’ll come back again (thankfully we have a reboot that would stop that) some of the pseudo-science makes no sense, Beast Boy has powers he shouldn’t have and good god do we need yet another Raven centric villain? Because Trigon, Brother Blood and that guy that was in the original Titans run weren’t Raven-centric enough?

I get that he was a foe to a poorly understood or utilised Miss Martian (who spent most of the stories either inept or unconscious) but primarily it was for Raven, as explained in his poorly educated backstory. The artwork is decent for the most part, despite a few goofs around the beginning of the Hunt for Raven story.

I’m not covering the back-up stories for these comics, they weren’t included in the trade releases of them, so, screw them. I know one focuses on the Ravager and one on the ‘coven of three’ and really they were just an excuse to keep the cover price at $3.99

So 11 issues of torment must be worth a considerable rage rating

Rage rating: 96%

Next: Man of Steel
