The Flash Episode 9 - The Man in the Yellow Suit review

It's time for the Flash to come face-to-face with his Mother's killer for the first time

The Man in the Yellow Suit

It's the most wonderful time of the year… There'll be punching and growling and fire balls a-throwing cause Christmas is here, it's the most wonderful time of the year…

So, the man in the yellow suit, the Reverse Flash as it were, the man who murdered Nora Allen and has been playing a game of chase with the Flash. Able to outrun Barry, he clearly has no chance, so it’s up to his allies to trap him.

Meanwhile, Eddie takes the next step with Iris, and it turns out Ronnie did indeed survive, and Caitlin's hoping to save him from himself.

If I'm honest, I wish the Firestorm plot had come up earlier. I get they needed to introduce him so he could sucker-punch the reverse Flash and allow the conflict to continue at a later date. So what was the Reverse Flash after? Some fun time with his nemesis, and also some prototype tachyon things.

I don't think there's any doubt that time travel was involved with the Reverse Flash about, so the tachyon thing isn't unexpected and him getting away with it wasn't expected either

So, Iris finally clocks onto the fact that Barry has feelings for her, but she's off to live with Eddie and frankly I could do with less of her if at all possible.

The personal journey for Barry here is one of the best they've done in the show, his mixture of fear, anger, determination and sadness driving him the entire episode, kudos to Grant Gustin for his superb acting skills.

And so, let me bring the final moment in. Harrison Wells has a colour changing suit, and some super-speed capabilities. He could possibly be the Reverse Flash. Given how he's spent most of the last series trying to keep him alive I find this sort of unlikely actually. But it's nice they give us plenty of misdirection (he doesn't kill Eddie, possible connection there?)

So, a good way to go out, but the Flash is back in January for more action. I'll see you then.
