With the finale of Agent Carter having aired last week, and the midseason premiere of S.H.I.E.L.D. (which I thought was really good) having aired, let's take a look at the final episodes and put the series to rest, hopefully only for now
Snafu
Wow! This
episode might be my favourite episode of the show, that’s how good I thought
this episode is.
So, Peggy
Carter’s in custody, and Leviathan is making its move, can Carter convince
everyone of the truth before it’s too late?
No. But she
manages to soften the blow a little, at least the SSR is now on the right
track, rather than chasing Stark like a dog chasing a stick. Everyone’s on the
same team again, yay!
But we have
action, as we have Dottie single-handedly take on 5 SSR agents, admittedly not
all at once but still impressive, she only managed to kill one of them, ah
well…
We also have
our psychiatrist pulling Dooley’s strings all the way, making him concentrate
on his family and lose focus on everything else, including letting him get
away with a dangerous bioweapon that causes people to kill each other (at least
I presume that’s what it was, it’s a little unclear) and eventually strapping
him to an exploding vest-jacket, that Dooley could not get off, causing him to
sacrifice himself to save the SSR.
We have Jarvis coming to the rescue with a false signed confession from Howard in one of his kinder but dafter moments and we have Peggy choosing to reveal everything. It all comes right in the end.

So, we have
our death that motivates the protagonists, so… Let’s prepare for a staggering
finale next week, it certainly looks like something to look forward to.

Valediction
Well, what a
finale we have here. It’s absolutely f*cking fantastic except for one thing.
They reduced Leviathan to 2 guys who have a grudge against Howard Stark.
I don’t
know, that particular point irks me, but not so much that I don’t see the
triumph of action and character placed into one 40 minute long ride, that I
wish would go on longer.
So, we have
the gas stolen from last week, intended to be a way of stopping soldiers from
needing sleep but turned out to induce psychosis and cause people to want to
kill eachother. The battle in Russia was one because the allies used it against
them, with Fennhoff only surviving thanks to a gas mask.
So, with
Dottie being that guy Howard slept with once, we have our duo wanting revenge.
Luckily Howard Stark is ready to give himself up to the public and is declared
innocent of whatever crimes he was charged of, in a public statement from the
SSR.
But Dottie
and Fennhoff use the situation, setting up an assassination in order to capture
Howard Stark and force him to drive the plane dispersing the gas over New York
on a day where there’s a hundred thousand people over Time Square.
Peggy takes
on Dottie, and while she takes some pretty big hits, she prevails, kicking her
out of the window, and although she survives, and lives to survive another day,
Peggy now has access to a radio. And it’s time for the whole – I need to get
over Captain America’s death thing and actually… it works pretty well. Peggy
is given the vial of Captain America’s blood and does the one thing I think
fits her character perfectly, she pours down in the river.
Valediction.
An interesting title for this. It means goodbye. And I hope it isn’t. I hope
the greatness of this show is realised, and it’s given a second season. Because
right now, Marvel is beginning to dethrone DC of its title as the best of TV
